Paul’s Fan Company hosts ribbon cutting at new Southern Gap facility
April 2022 – Paul’s Fan Company held a ribbon-cutting ceremony to celebrate the grand opening of a new five-building manufacturing campus at the Southern Gap Industrial Park in Grundy, Virginia.
Special guests, Virginia Senator Travis Hackworth, Jean Jordan of VCEDA, Jay Rife from the Buchanan County IDA, Carol Branham of the Buchanan County Board of Supervisors and Scotty Wampler from Cumberland Plateau Planning District offered remarks.
Paul’s Fan Company purchased the original shell building in a November 2019 joint agreement between the Buchanan County IDA and Board of Supervisors. VCEDA funded the project through a lease purchase agreement with Paul’s Fan Company. The event celebrated the community’s efforts to spur industrial growth in Buchanan County.
Located 12 miles from Paul’s Fan Company’s original location in Big Rock, Virginia, the new manufacturing campus is an advanced manufacturing facility with two additional assembly lines; tripling the company’s manufacturing capacity. A sandblast building, paint building, and final assembly building were constructed, fully equipped with superior equipment and tools.
Paul’s Fan Company treated guests to a catered lunch by Food City. Sandy Shortridge, Jack Hinshelwood and the Mountain Mission School Choir provided musical entertainment. Soiree of Vansant, Virginia planned the event.
