The Challenge
This project offered a set of unique challenges to overcome, ranging from the difficult location where this fan needed to be installed, to the tight turnaround time.
Most importantly, this custom fan needed to be able to maintain the same static pressure while running different CFM to keep the air clear from particulates.
This manufacturing facility also had plans to continue to grow its footprint. While their need at the time was to install a 110,000 CFM fan at 18 inches, the CFM would eventually grow to 150,000 at 18 inches in the near future.
The Solution
To solve the challenges this chemical processing and fiber manufacturer faced, Paul’s Fans was able to install a custom fan that was above Class IV construction for a high level of quality and performance.
Every blade of the fan was custom-made, tested, and installed to ensure it was running properly.
By installing damper doors and using a VFD (variable frequency drive), the required pressure was maintained and would continue to operate at different CFMs.
